Recently Unearthed

Recently Lesley and I were visited by our good friend from Knoxville Liz. We stayed at Fernandina during the labor day weekend.  During our trip we hit the local antique shops. That is where I picked up these Lps. Most were only one dollar which always makes me much less gunshy.

1. Bazuka-Self Titled

I have the 45 of the Bazuka single which is a 70s mainstay of R&B/Funk/Jazz fusion.

2.  The Ventures

Late Period Ventures. Hard to pass up anything with a version of the Shaft Theme.

3. Gloria Lynne-I wish You Love

Never really listened to her before. All the songs have love in the title

4. Peter Sanloff and his Orchestra-Kurt Weill in Berlin

Not really sure what this will be like. Lesley likes that German cabaret sound.

5. New Sides-Shelly Berman

I never enjoy these old comedy records as much as I want to, but it is hard to turn down those old Verve album covers.

About magnetandsteel

This is a collaborative blog shared with my wife. We are recent transplants to Jacksonville from Knoxville, TN where we both went to college. Right now we plan on the blog to focus on our everyday passions like photography and cooking as well as the pop culture things we take in on a regular basis.
