I really enjoy horror anthologies. Most horror movies can be shorter (movies in general). So if you can cram three stories into an hour and a half, well done.
What makes a really good anthology is the wraparound, or the extra plotline that ties all the stories. In Screamtime we get a deliciously terrible one. Two guys steal some movies from a store, and watch them at a girl’s apartment (who we see nude most of the time). Each movie is a story in Screamtime.
All the stories are from Britain. The best of these is about a young couple who move into a new home. The wife keeps have visions of a serial killer and his massacre. This one actually has a decent twist and surprise ending. The other good one features Punch and Judy puppeteer who is ridiculed and bullied by his wife and son untill they are attacked by evil puppets. The unnerving aspect of this story were the noises that the puppets make. Their insane high-pitched voices will haunt your dreams. Screamtime is prettygoodtime (sorry couldn’t resist).
